Cruise Control: PortMiami’s Big Season Is a Power Move for Planners

Ten new ships–two new mega-terminals–PortMiami’s 2025–26 lineup is a wave of opportunity for incentives and corporate groups

Already crowned the world’s busiest cruise port—with 8.2 million passengers in the 2023–24 season—PortMiami is cruising into 2026 at full throttle. Between October 2025 and May 2026, ten new ships from marquee brands like Virgin Voyages, MSC Cruises, Holland America Line, and Cunard will make their Miami debut.

Hydi Webb, PortMiami’s Director and CEO, says it best: “Each new arrival underscores the strong partnerships we’ve built with our cruise lines and reaffirms Miami’s role as the world’s premier cruise destination.” Translation: the tide is rising, and Miami intends to stay on top.

All Aboard the Season of Debuts

The action kicks off this month with Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth and Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady, followed by Holland America’s Zuiderdam, Celebrity Xcel, and Oceania’s Allura in November.

December brings MSC’s Grandiosa, while Windstar’s Star Seeker, Holland America’s Eurodam, and Norwegian’s Luna sail in early 2026. Silversea’s Silver Nova closes the season in May—ideal for high-end recognition programs or VIP client trips.

These aren’t just new names on the manifest—they’re floating innovation labs. Expect culinary studios, immersive entertainment, wellness decks, and hybrid-ready connectivity. For planners, that’s a chance to host meetings at sea without sacrificing polish or productivity.

The Real MVP? Miami’s Makeover

Behind the scenes, PortMiami’s infrastructure is getting a glow-up worthy of its passenger growth. In April 2025, the port unveiled the world’s largest cruise terminal, built for MSC Cruises and capable of processing 36,000 passengers per day.

Just three months later, construction began on Royal Caribbean’s new terminal, designed for 7,000-passenger Icon-class vessels—ships that double as floating convention centers.

For meeting pros, that means faster boarding, bigger group capacity, and new possibilities for pre- and post-cruise programs anchored in Miami’s ever-expanding hospitality scene.

Meetings That Make Waves

For incentive and meeting planners, PortMiami’s growth fuels a new “cruise-as-venue” strategy. With luxury lines homeporting there, the city becomes a launchpad for reward travel, leadership retreats, and high-touch client events that blend sea and city.

Think: a sales kickoff in Brickell followed by a team-bonding voyage aboard Virgin’s Brilliant Lady. Or a C-suite retreat on Silversea’s Silver Nova, where networking happens poolside at sunset instead of a ballroom coffee break.

The new wave of ships gives planners something rare—a destination that moves.
