Westin Ups the Ante on Sleep with Next-Gen Heavenly Bed

Westin doubles down on sleep with its refreshed product, enhanced modern design and globally acclaimed wellness programming

As the travel industry pivots towards a focus on wellness, Westin Hotels & Resorts is investing in its signature offering: sleep. The brand unveils its next-generation Heavenly Bed, a product refresh designed to further elevate the sleep experience for guests.

Developed in collaboration with sleep experts, Westin associates, and guests themselves, the new bed underscores the brand’s commitment to holistic wellness. Westin, a leader in hospitality wellness, has long recognized sleep as a cornerstone of well-being, a philosophy resonating with today’s travelers seeking restorative nights on the road. This focus on sleep quality aligns with a booming industry trend – the sleep sector is projected to grow by over $400 billion by 2028.

The original Heavenly Bed, launched in 1999, established a benchmark for in-hotel sleep comfort. It also sparked a consumer desire to recreate that experience at home, with over 500,000 Heavenly Beds sold through the Westin store.

“We set an industry standard with the original Heavenly Bed,” said Brian Povinelli, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Marketing and Brand for Marriott International. “We understand that sleep is paramount to overall well-being, and that’s why the Heavenly Bed has resonated for decades. This update reflects our commitment to listening to guests and associates, ensuring every change is impactful.”

Westin embarked on a multi-year development process to refine the sleep experience. This included testing thousands of products, gathering guest feedback through focus groups and listening sessions, and researching advancements in sleep technology. The result is a new, top-of-the-line mattress with a modern design and a continued dedication to evolving the Westin Sleep Well experience.

The next-generation Heavenly Bed boasts a plush-top mattress featuring an innovative silver fiber weave and temperature-regulating gel-infused memory foam. Bedding components are upgraded to hypoallergenic materials, and the duvet insert is designed for optimal temperature regulation. The previous all-white aesthetic is replaced with a modern design, featuring a charcoal blanket and full-frame piping on pillowcases for a residential feel. Additional updates include sateen linens with a matte finish, and the removal of the bed skirt and bolster pillow, reflecting modern sleep preferences.

Westin’s commitment to sleep extends beyond the mattress. The brand offers a comprehensive “Sleep Well” program featuring sleep amenities like lavender balm and white noise machines, along with sleep tips and relaxation techniques available in guest rooms.

With this next-generation Heavenly Bed, Westin aims to solidify its position as the leader in hotel sleep, ensuring guests can truly recharge and experience optimal well-being while traveling.
