Colorado’s Premier Meetings and Events Trade Show Returns

The 24th annual Meetings Industry Council of Colorado will be held in Denver later this month

On March 26-27, more than 1,000 meetings and events industry planners and suppliers from all over North America will gather at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver for two days of networking, trade show appointments and education at the 2024 Meetings Industry Council (MIC) of Colorado Educational Conference and Trade Show. More than 150 suppliers will have exhibitor booths in the exhibit hall and there will also be an evening reception at the end of the first day for informal networking.

Presented annually since 2001, MIC of Colorado has established itself as an institution that brings the unique meetings and events community of the Rocky Mountain region together. In 2023, the event added a hosted buyer program and the initiative is back again as part of the 2024 show. MIC’s Hosted Buyer Program allows meeting planners and MIC sponsors/exhibitors to conduct business in an efficient and productive setting during exclusive hours prior to the MIC Annual Conference opening on March 26, 2024. The prearranged appointments will enable planners to meet one-on-one with suppliers and get all the top-notch education and networking that MIC has to offer—for free.

Planners can apply for hosted buyer status, and applications are reviewed and approved based on verification of identified meetings and events. The selection criteria is based on purchasing and decision-making authority. Approved planners and sponsors/exhibitors will schedule appointments through a customized matchmaking portal. Appointments are scheduled during exclusive pre-opening time from 9:00-11:00 am on Tuesday, March 26. Hosted Buyers must schedule and complete a minimum of 8 eight-minute appointments during this time. The morning of appointments will be followed by an exclusive lunch in the Exhibit Hall from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm for hosted buyers, MIC sponsors and exhibitors, plus all other registered planners.

Educational Opportunities

The theme for the 2024 conference is “Keys: Unlocking People, Purpose, Passion and Potential.” A total of 27 educational sessions will address how the meetings and hospitality industry is evolving in unforeseen ways and explore solutions – “keys” – that will help planners create events that are relevant, compelling, and responsible, both fiscally and sustainably.

The highlight of the educational program is the keynote address on day one by international keynote speaker, Sylvie di Giusto. Formerly the head of a management academy and innovation hub, di Giusto developed innovative programs for high-end education with never-before-used training methods. As the Chief of Staff for the Chief Human Resources Officer of Europe’s largest tourism and retail group, she also coordinated all group-wide human resources teams and activities. In her flagship keynote, Sylvie introduces the concept of “The POWER OF CHOICE”— an immersive learning and engaging experience, enhanced by cutting-edge 3D technology. You will go on a mind-bending journey, learning how the power of choice can be harnessed to create truly transformative experiences.

MIC has been approved by the Events Industry Council (EIC) as a Preferred Provider of continuing education courses, which qualify for 8 hours of CMP continuing education credit. The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) is a globally recognized professional designation for event organizers, designers, and strategists. It is administered by the EIC and is considered the gold standard in the meetings and events industry.
